Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 2026

Welcome to Faithox. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Faithox review management platform, widget APIs, and associated services (collectively, the "Service"). By integrating the Service into your Shopify store or custom e-commerce website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Faithox is a B2B2C Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that provides highly secure, verified customer review infrastructure. We automatically trigger review requests based on verified purchase webhooks (via Shopify or custom coded websites) and display authentic feedback via embedded web widgets.

2. Account Integration & Responsibilities

  • Shopify Merchants: By installing our application, you grant Faithox OAuth access to necessary scopes (read_products, read_orders) required to process transactions and trigger review emails.
  • Custom Integrations: Merchants using our custom coded website webhooks are responsible for ensuring payload signatures and secrets are configured correctly to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your dashboard login credentials and API tokens.

3. Intellectual Property & Data Ownership

Faithox retains all ownership, copyrights, and intellectual property rights to the widget architecture, backend systems, database schemas, and platform design. You, the merchant, retain complete ownership of your store's data, your branding, and your customers' information. By using the Service, you grant Faithox a limited, non-exclusive license to process and display this data solely for the purpose of rendering the review widget on your storefront.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

To maintain the integrity of our trust infrastructure, you agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, manipulate, or attempt to extract the source code of the Faithox widget or APIs.
  • Attempt to bypass our cryptographic single-use token system to generate fabricated, incentivized, or fake reviews.
  • Use the Service to display reviews containing illegal, explicit, harmful, or personally identifiable information.

5. Limitation of Liability & Uptime

Faithox is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While our infrastructure is built for high availability, we do not guarantee 100% uninterrupted service. Faithox shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages, including lost revenue or profits, resulting from widget downtime, third-party webhook failures, or integration errors.

6. Termination & Data Deletion

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate our Acceptable Use Policy or attempt to manipulate consumer trust metrics. Upon uninstallation of the Faithox Shopify app (or explicit account deletion for custom sites), Faithox initiates an automated cascade protocol to permanently wipe your store configurations, products, and associated reviews from our databases in compliance with data privacy regulations.

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 2026

At Faithox ("we", "our"), transparency and data security are our foundational principles. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, process, and protect data for Merchants (Data Controllers) utilizing our platform, and for Shoppers (Data Subjects) interacting with our review system.

1. Our Role in Data Processing

Faithox operates as a Data Processor. We only process personal data on behalf of our client Merchants (the Data Controllers) strictly for the purpose of verifying purchases, requesting reviews, and displaying those reviews securely.

2. Information We Collect

From Merchants (Store Owners):

We collect your store domain, email address, Shopify OAuth tokens, and custom coded website webhook secrets to authenticate your business and securely operate the service.

From Shoppers (Reviewers):

When an order is successfully processed via Shopify or a custom coded website, we temporarily process the buyer's email address to generate a secure, cryptographic, one-time-use review token. If a review is submitted, we collect the reviewer's provided name, star rating, written comment, and optionally uploaded product photos (stored securely in our cloud buckets).

3. How We Use the Data

  • Authentication: Email addresses are used to dispatch automated review requests via our email provider (Resend) containing a secure token.
  • Display: Shopper names, ratings, text, and photos are displayed publicly on the Merchant's website via the Faithox widget.
  • Fraud Prevention: Data is used to track token consumption (marking tokens as "used") to guarantee zero duplicate or fake reviews.

Strict Privacy Guarantee: Faithox does not sell, rent, or trade Merchant or Shopper data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties.

4. Third-Party Sub-Processors

To provide high-availability service, Faithox utilizes industry-leading sub-processors:

  • Supabase: For secure PostgreSQL database hosting, authentication, and file storage (product and review imagery).
  • Resend: For the secure delivery of transactional review request emails.
  • Vercel: For edge-network API hosting and serverless function execution.

5. Data Retention & GDPR Compliance

Faithox fully complies with global privacy standards, including GDPR and Shopify's strict data protection requirements. We process mandatory compliance webhooks instantly:

  • customers/redact: If a shopper requests data deletion via the Merchant, we immediately redact their PII from our review database.
  • shop/redact & app/uninstalled: If a Merchant uninstalls Faithox or closes their store, an automated cascade wipe removes the store profile, all product listings, and all associated consumer reviews permanently from our servers.

6. Cookies and Tracking

The Faithox widget is designed for performance and privacy. We do not inject cross-site tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics trackers into the Merchant's storefront. Any session tokens utilized are strictly functional to ensure secure review submissions.

Privacy Concerns: For data deletion requests or privacy questions, contact our Data Protection Officer at faithoxweb@gmail.com.

Review Moderation Policy

Effective Date: October 2026

Faithox is built on the promise of absolute transparency. We provide a fortified ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between businesses and consumers securely. To maintain this trust, all interactions on our platform are governed by strict moderation protocols.

1. The "Verified Only" Standard

Unlike open review platforms, Faithox mechanically prevents fabricated reviews. A review can only be submitted using a unique, cryptographically secure token. These tokens are generated exclusively by our backend systems after catching a verified orders/paid webhook from Shopify or a custom coded website webhook. Once a review is submitted, the token is permanently invalidated, ensuring zero spam or duplicate entries.

2. Content Guidelines

While we champion free speech and honest consumer feedback, reviews must remain relevant and safe. Faithox reserves the right to remove reviews that violate the following standards:

  • Hate Speech & Harassment: Profanity, threats, abuse, or discriminatory language targeting individuals or protected groups.
  • Personal Information (PII): Reviews exposing sensitive data, including phone numbers, home addresses, or full names of store employees or other consumers.
  • Spam & Self-Promotion: Irrelevant links, promotional material for competing businesses, or bot-generated text.
  • Irrelevant Commentary: Feedback that has absolutely no relation to the product purchased or the shopping experience.

3. Media Uploads

Consumers may upload images alongside their reviews. All imagery must be relevant to the product. Uploads containing explicit, illegal, copyrighted (without permission), or inappropriate visual content will be deleted immediately from our storage buckets, and the associated review may be revoked.

4. Merchant Rights & Restrictions

Merchants using Faithox have access to a live dashboard where they can track analytics and manage their reputation.

  • Right to Reply: Merchants are encouraged to use the Faithox API/Dashboard to post public replies to reviews to resolve customer issues.
  • Flagging: Merchants may flag reviews they believe violate our Content Guidelines (e.g., containing PII or hate speech).
  • No Censorship: To maintain consumer trust, Merchants cannot delete negative reviews simply because they are negative. Faithox's core value is authenticity; valid low-star ratings from verified buyers will remain visible.

5. Enforcement Authority

Faithox acts as the neutral arbiter of trust. We utilize a combination of automated scanning and manual review reports to enforce this policy. Faithox retains the final, non-negotiable authority to determine if content violates these guidelines and to take appropriate action, including content removal or merchant account suspension.

Report Abuse: To report a review that violates these guidelines, contact faithoxweb@gmail.com.
